Local Area

Riverside Cottage is next door to the Helwith Bridge Inn, with its large parking area for campers and hikers. Paul and Carol are your hosts, serving well-kept ales and homemade food with legendary portions!
We’re three miles to the nearest Northern Rail station at Horton in Ribblesdale and just four miles from thriving Settle, where you’ll find Booths Supermarket, two co-operative stores plus a wide range of cafes, restaurants, bars, and independent shops.

For outside lovers, we’re on the Three Peaks Way and there’s a choice of easy and more challenging walks on the doorstep. Pen-y-Ghent is a stones-throw from the cottage and on a clear day is visible from each of the rooms. We can store up to two cycles with advance notice making the local area accessible on two wheels.

Within thirty minutes drive, you’ll find lots of local places of interest including the Ribblehead Viaduct, the towns of Hawes and Skipton, Ingleton Falls and the highest mainline station in England at Dent. Of course, there’s lots more besides – just ask us for info.
